Accountant

*Job Overview*

The selected candidate will be part of the Accounting Department, primarily responsible for entering invoices, processing and posting accounts payable batches in a timely manner. Ensures the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of accounting records for assigned expense accounts.

*Duties*
* *Invoice Verification*: Verify invoices for quantity, unit price, extensions, tax, and applicable discounts. Ensure that the documentation attached to each invoice is complete.
* *Invoice Coding*: Code invoices with accounting account numbers according to distribution in the general ledger.
* *Invoice Processing*: Determine dates for invoices to be paid and key invoices into the computerized accounts payable system.
* *Monthly and Year-End Closing*: Responsible for monthly and year-end closing of the general ledger, including analysis of expenses and preparation of journal entries for assigned accounts.
* *General Ledger Maintenance*: Prepare, analyze, and maintain the general ledger of assigned subsidiaries.
* *Variance Reports*: Provide variance reports of current results to prior periods and/or budget for assigned companies.
* *Reimbursable Expenses*: Analyze the monthly pull of actual reimbursable expenses billed to tenants for accuracy and completeness.
* *Annual Forecasts*: Prepare annual forecasts of reimbursement expenses.
* *Statutory Tax Filings*: Perform monthly statutory tax filings and payments for service withholdings to residents and non-residents.

*Experience*
* *Education*: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
* *Experience*: Two to three years of relevant experience in accounting.
* *Technical Skills*: Strong working knowledge of Excel. Knowledge in MRI and Software is preferred.
* *Attention to Detail*: Strong attention to accuracy and detail required.
* *Customer Service and Teamwork*: Strong customer service and teamwork attitude.
* *Analytical Skills*: Strong analytical skills.

* *Languages*: Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in Spanish and English.
