Position Summary
Accounting Assistant will assist with the processing of insurance premium payments and vendor payments. Additionally, the position will assist Controller and Assistant Controller with various department tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process daily insurance premium payments
Process vendor payments
Employee will aid in maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures with controls, as well as checks and balances across all departments
Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
Complete regulatory and compliance training, as required
Demonstrate ability to appear to work on time, follow directions from a manager, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives. Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness
Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
Minimum 2 years previous experience working with accounts payable and general accounting.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet and electronic mail software.
Strong Excel skills.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and a high level of professional integrity.
High level of customer service skills.
Maintains a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and work relationship with co-workers and supervisor.
Strong time management and organizational skills in a dynamic, constantly changing environment.
Attention to detail and quality focused.
