This position will be responsible for the development, coordination, assessment, and maintenance of comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery policies, standards, procedures, plans and risk management/validation practices necessary to ensure Populars ability to recovery, in the event of an unforeseen disruption to facilities, technology systems or application, in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. It will also coordinate business continuity assessment activities with business units, and perform periodic reviews and tests of established Business Continuity Plans and procedures to identify any enhancements required to the plans, report any issues noted, make recommendations for improvements, provide follow:up to remediation efforts, and handle the consolidated risk reporting.
This position will also serve as a subject matter expert in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery and will be responsible for handling critical events which may lead to business disruptions; and convene the response team. It will also manage communication with management, internal business units, and external and internal auditors and participate in Business Continuity efforts with the public and private sector to understand emergency management implications on Popular.

Previous supervisory experience and the ability to motivate and coach resources as well as the ability to negotiate effectively along with interacting and conveying ideas effectively to Senior Management, regulators, vendors and internal customers is required.
Strong analytical and problem:solving skills (Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, and develops alternative solutions.)
Excellent oral and written communications skills in both English and Spanish (Must be completely bilingual).
Excellent knowledge of Word Processing, Presentations, Spreadsheets, Internet, Internal Business software and other related software.
Thorough understanding of technology and its integration with the financial institution operating environment.
Experience and knowledge of the following areas: Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management, Vendors Business Continuity Evaluation and Risk Assessments.
Ability to process computer data and format and generate reports.
Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.

Bachelors degree (B. A.) in Business Administration with major in Accounting, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering/Computer Science.

Experience 13;
Six to eight years of related experience in Supervisory positions or in a consulting role with a broad view of business continuity processes. Certifications and licenses such as CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional).
