About the Role:
The Business Development Specialist will research, prospect and create a pipeline of targeted potential customers for further screening and closing deals with qualified ones. Will be responsible for new business development and entering to form partnerships for continuous business development within Puerto Rico, US and Latin America. Must build strong customer relationships and close deals for servicing highly regulated industries (such as pharmaceutical or medical device).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Generate and grow new business by successfully executing on a Development plan within current and potential customers.
Represent the company before prospective and current clients to promote our services for chemical, environmental and microbiological tests, practiced focusing on our clients’ standards and complying with regulatory agencies in a cost effective manner, while applying our RAPID RESPONSE philosophy.
Understand customers’ needs in order to Identify, match, and provide them with the best LEADERS to help fulfill their projects, through our Outsourcing Division.
Outreach potential clients through phone calls, in-person meetings, trade shows or professional conventions/industry meetings, and at other networking groups.
Conduct competitive market analysis and other related research.
Prepare and present proposals and routine quotations to clients.
Assist Operations manager in overall client satisfaction and participate in client’s issues resolution as appropriate.
Qualifications and skills:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Science (Chemistry and/or Microbiology, preferred), or Business Administration
Minimum three to five years of experience within the pharmaceutical or medical device industries, in Puerto Rico or US. Experience within LATAM markets is a Plus.
Knowledge of marketing strategies and customer loyalty programs.
Familiarity with laboratory testing of regulated healthcare products (e.g. pharmaceuticals, medical devices).
Experience in outsourcing efforts, such as recruitment of special talents and professionals for specific customers’ projects.
Strong presentation skills for delivering proposals to top management as well as marketing company services to trade organizations and/or public groups.
Ability to work independently and develop and maintain portfolio of clients.
Oriented towards teamwork and a collaborative environment.
Available to travel as needed to develop assigned geographic locations and new businesses, including some overnight travel.
Highly motivated and results driven personality.
Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
Fully Bilingual (Spanish & English).
MUST BE LIVING IN PUERTO RICO, preferably in the Western part of the island.
