General Description
The business analyst is responsible for analyzing and modeling existing business processes. The goal of business process analysis is to understand and document current business procedures and identify areas for improvement. A thorough understanding of the current state of the organization is necessary prior to recommending changes related to implementing a new business solution. The business analyst uses modeling tools to document the current state of business processes as well as the desired future state. The business analyst is responsible for the knowledge transfer of business implications to the application/database developers and project managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs feasibility analysis, scopes projects, and works with the project management team to prioritizes deliverables, and negotiate on product functionalities.
Creates detailed Business Requirement Document (BRD) and translate it into functional specifications.
Provides analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation.
Partners with development and analytic teams to provide reporting on software solutions.
Participates in Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Functionality Testing.
Conduct interviews, workshops, focus groups, brainstorming, observations, and surveys/questionnaires with stakeholders to determine the requirements needed for a new project.
Coordinate and document the acceptance and understanding of all stakeholders including the vendors with the Business Requirement Document.
Redact the test cases for the project certification and acceptance.
Performs Risk and vulnerability Analysis and documents requirements for development teams to mitigate and prevent threats
Serve as SME to other team members for InfoSec, CyberSecurity and fraud mitigation.
Minimum Education
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Systems, or related areas.
Experience
One (1) or more years of experience in the following:
Working as a Functional, Data or Business Analyst
Experience in Access, Excel, Visio, and MS Project
Customer interfacing experience – project oversight, customer presentation
Knowledge of cybersecurity threats and attack vectors, preferred
Familiar with current fraud trends
