Position Description Provides leadership in supporting the team members in their Cell Operating System. Responsible for providing first response to support requests from team members. Responds to and escalates issues appropriately, provides support to team members to meet daily goals, develops team members capability, and supports the use of A3 DMAIC problem solving Position Responsibilities In conjunction with Supervisor, ensures appropriate number of team members are in place (available). Verifies team members are certified to perform the operations in their standardized work. Provides short-term coverage for team members in work cell. Supports set up at beginning of shift (define locally). In partnership with Planner/ Supervisor, agrees to daily schedule and provide feedback as appropriate to help maintain level operations and ensure schedule is achieved. Ensures 5S standard is visually evident. Creates and maintains standardized work based on current number of team members throughout shift Communicates standardized work paths to team members Maintains and responds to visual indicators as per the visual management system Continuously observes the performance of COS subsystems, elements, interactions, versus latest subsystem standards and respond accordingly. Responds to abnormalities identified by the cell team member in a timely manner. Partners with cell members to complete problem solving cards when an abnormality is encountered. Promptly escalates to appropriate support team (tier system) to ensure issues are resolved and enable production activity to return to normal. Applies problem solving skills utilizing the A3/DMAIC process. Facilitates daily problem solving meetings to engage team members in continuous improvement and continuous learning Creates flexibility by identifying knowledge gaps on skills and techniques and certifying team members to required work steps. Maintain training matrix. Coaches cell team members on COS/Problem solving/Standardized Work to facilitate learning and continuous improvement. Encourages cooperation and commitment within team to achieve goals Performs other related duties as required Quality Responsibilities Reports any observed or informed process and/or product non-conformities to the Supervisor for action and resolution. Reports any complaint regarding a Medtronic product to the Supervisor. Complies with all the requirements in the operational procedures at the area of responsibility in order to meet the requirements of all applicable Quality System Regulations (e.g.: FDA Part 820 Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485 Quality Standard, R-PAL (Japanese QSR's). EHS Responsibilities Acknowledge and maintain commitment with the EHS Policy. Participate in the development of EHS improvement projects. Participate actively in the EHS programs to achieve the objectives and targets defined for the area. Minimum Education Associate Degree or 60 undergraduate approved credit as equivalent Basic Qualifications Background Educational: Business Administration, Manufacturing or related field Experience: Principal Level: 7 years with Associate or equivalent or 5 Years with Bachelors Exposure to manufacturing environment Skills Interpersonal Relations Quality and Results Oriented Computer Literate Basic oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English Coaching Desired/ Preferred Qualifications Background Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronic industry Knowledge of Cell Operating System (COS) Knowledge of work steps\process within the Cell Skills Problem Solving Teamwork Communications Continues Improvement Working Conditions Mental Components: Capacity to calculate, classify, compare, coordinate, copy, edit, evaluate, interview, instruct, read, observe, organize, plan, compile, select, request and document.
