A Federal Credit Union located at Puerto Rico its seeking a Compliance Officer / Manager who will develop and periodically review or update the Credit Union's policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. The candidate will:
Will be overseeing the BSA Compliance Program and the organizations departmental or functional BSA compliance.
Create a compliance training program and monitor completion as appropriate per position.
Develop and execute compliance monitoring programs to test the compliance controls and procedures.
Serve as the Credit Union’s legislative representative by keeping abreast of current political issues and proposals, communicating our position to our legislators.
Ensure HMDA, BSA and FACTA compliance.
Organizes, plans and conducts audits of credit union activities in a manner which allows for the determination of and reporting on the existence, adequacy and effectiveness of the system of internal controls.
Review and revise the Credit Union's forms and disclosures for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Work with counsel in developing contracts, forms and/or disclosures that meet the needs of the Credit Union and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Conducts annual assessment of risk and determines the degree of significance of each. Uses this analysis to establish the frequency and depth of audit coverage for individual audit programs to be conducted.
Coordinate with external auditors, federal and state regulatory agency examiners with their annual review of the Credit Union’s financial records.
Prepare audit reports outlining the scope of the audit and its results, and recommend corrective action if necessary.
Report to the supervisory committee on a semi-annual basis the scope of the audits performed and status of all recommended corrective action.
SAFE ACT - Obtained annual testing for compliance with the SAFE ACT regulation.
Foster and encourage a culture of compliance in the Credit Union.
Supervise a team of 2 analysts and evaluate them annually.
