The key responsibilities of the role include: A Consultant on the Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) Middle Office Support team has broad, in-depth knowledge of the business and acts as the first point of reference for day-to-day queries as well as serves as a liaison to related areas. The Consultant works on relatively complex, high profile activities and projects involving committees and/or senior management and may sometimes include the end-client. The Consultant focuses on maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures, while building towards becoming an area expert. The Consultant operates under general supervision but works independently most of the time. Specifically, a Consultant would work on the New Account Opening Team, handling the onboarding of new clients and the movement of assets between accounts. The Consultant would be responsible for working in a team setting to ensure that all account onboarding and offboarding is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Responsible for providing client service through the execution of daily functions and tasks. Understand and enhance desktop operating procedures and controls. Responsible for providing timely response to queries and finding resolution to avoid repetitive actions. Works effectively both as a team member as well as an independent self-motivated individual. Responsible for multiple projects of various complexities. Cross train on other functions as well as provide back up. Serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to junior level employees. Able to identify opportunities for improvement within existing technology applications while acting as a liaison with Partner areas to drive resolution. Independently build relationships with internal and client contacts. Responsible for understanding client's business needs and deliverables. Act as the escalation point of contact for client issues or inquiries. Understand current Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that are directly related to job function(s). Establish, build & maintain effective working relationships with key partners internal and external to the organization. Drive the engagement of other partners as appropriate to solve client inquiries/issues. Understand impact of personal job function(s) on peers and applicable shared services partners.
