General Description
This position is responsible for assisting, supporting, and providing professional legal advice related to assigned matters, mainly related to mergers & acquisitions, treasury, fiduciary services, insurance and securities laws. The attorney should be familiar with federal and local banking regulatory laws and regulation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support on M&A transactions within a fast paced and dynamic team.
Negotiate, review and draft documentation for business and financial transactions.
Creating and maintaining standard contract documentation for transactions.
Provide effective risk-based counsel to the business and support units on legal documents under Puerto Rico and federal laws, as applicable, including non-standard transactions.
Legal research and analysis related to complex regulations, including banking regulations, broker-dealer services and fiduciary issues involving investment advisers.
Minimum Education
Juris Doctor Degree
Experience
At least 5 years of experience working in a law firm with a focus on corporate, securities or insurance law. Experience working independently and collaborating with senior level officers preferred.

Able to mantain excellent interpersonal relationships and exhibit teamwork skills
Business acumen; apply critical thinking skills to review complex legal and non-legal material for legal implications that may pose a risk to the organization
Produces clear and concise written materials appropriate for submissions to senior level internal clients
Ability to share information and responsabilities to achieve common division goals
Anticipates opportunities and potential solutions to complex, time-sensitive matters
Fluent in both English and Spanish (oral and written skills)
Analytical; able to effectively identify and define problems and recommend feasible solutions under specific deadlines
Intermediate MS Excel skills
