Responsibilities: Partner with the Office of General Counsel (OGC) and KPMG's senior leaders to develop KPMG's intellectual property (IP) strategies for business functions and innovation groups within the firm and be responsible for executing the implementation of those strategies Manage KPMG's IP portfolio, i.e. granted patents, granted trademarks; coordinate and collaborate with OGC and outside counsel in respect to patent and trademark filings Partner with innovation teams to provide consultative services related to IP management while new products and services are being developed and implemented. Consult with team members at all levels of the organization to advise on various statutory intellectual property protection options such as copyrights, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets in additional to operational controls which may be employed to safeguard the firm's IP Actively participate and act as key stakeholder in global discussions around IP-related policies, standards, methods and operating procedures; Act as key stakeholder in IP policy review and owner of development of IP standards, methods and collateral Collaborate with global IP leaders/attorneys, drive requirements and considerations for a global IP-sharing marketplace to maximize IP leverage throughout the KPMG network Operational responsibility including conducting regular "road shows" and education sessions; developing IP related documentation (i.e. reference guides, protocols such as onboarding talent from other organizations, and respecting IP of Alliance partners); oversee the Firm's internal IP webpage; managing the Firm's trade secret protection program; liaise with Marketing and Global Branding on trademark filings; automating current manual IP processes Qualifications: A minimum of ten years of experience managing Intellectual Property Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university; Master's Degree is preferred Strong understanding of cutting-edge technology such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and data analytics Solid understanding of statutory IP protections such as patents, trade secrets, trademarks and copyrights is required Outstanding verbal/written communication, collaboration, presentation and negotiation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and team work; Must be US citizen or permanent resident Willing to travel ten to twenty percent KPMG LLP (the U.S. member firm of KPMG International) offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
