Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Electrical Engineer to support our procurement team and lead technical evaluations of vendor proposals. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical engineering design or construction projects and a solid understanding of procurement processes, technical submittals, and cost analysis. This role bridges engineering and procurement to ensure scope alignment, cost competitiveness, and compliance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review and evaluate technical proposals and vendor submittals for electrical systems, equipment, and services.
* Support the preparation of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and technical specifications.
* Analyze vendor responses, perform technical comparisons, and identify discrepancies, risks, or non-compliance.
* Collaborate with engineering, project management, and procurement teams to define procurement strategies and evaluation criteria.
* Prepare detailed evaluation memos, scoring matrices, and recommendations for vendor selection.
* Coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) and clarifications with vendors.
* Ensure selected vendors meet project technical requirements, schedule, and budget constraints.
* Assist in value engineering and cost analysis reviews.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required); Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
* 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering with exposure to procurement or proposal evaluation.
* Familiarity with technical specifications, electrical codes (e.g., NEC), and construction documents.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with procurement or project management platforms is a plus.
* Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience:

* Experience in utility, infrastructure, or industrial project environments.
* Previous involvement in evaluation of substation, distribution, or facility electrical systems.
* Understanding of cost estimation practices and total cost of ownership analysis.

Job Types: Contract, Temporary, Part-time

Pay: $45.00 - $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
