```Duties``` - Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote student learning and development. - Provide instruction in English language arts, including reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary. - Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with special education requirements. - Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. - Foster critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication skills through class discussions, projects, and assignments. - Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and respectful learning atmosphere. - Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and other forms of evaluation. - Provide timely feedback to students on their academic performance and offer guidance for improvement. - Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and share best practices. - Stay updated on current educational trends and research in the field of English language arts. ```Qualifications``` - Bachelor's degree in English or a related field. Master's degree preferred. - Teaching certification or licensure in English language arts. - Experience teaching English at the secondary level is preferred. - Knowledge of instructional design principles and techniques. - Familiarity with special education strategies and accommodations. - Strong classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues. - Ability to mentor and support students in their academic growth. - Knowledge of library services and resources for promoting literacy skills. - Experience in academic advising for course selection and career planning.
