Description We are actively searching for qualified candidates for thispotential opening located in Vieques,Puerto Rico. We are seeking an adaptive and versatile employee for a wide-rangingrole to support a complex project. Some expectedroles are Supervise and manage the activities of project operations, whichincludes the following systems and functions: base of operations maintenanceand improvements, complex shipping requirements for a remote island, munitionsrelated support activities, support environmental management in a munitionsenvironment, provided UXO avoidance as a UXO Technician, boat operations,GPS/RTK data collection and geospatial (GIS) interpretation of data,communicate in both English and Spanish, office clerical support. Responsibilities include scheduling, programmatic, andadministrative support for the safe completion of tasks to meet customer requirements.The Operations Manager will need to ensure proper coordination for the planning,as well as effective and safe employment of all systems designated to support siteevents. Ensure all personnel on site and performing specific functions meetqualification criteria when applicable. Assists in the planning, and coordination, of long-rangeoperational projects to assure ability to meet project requirements,availability of personnel, and compatibility with other planned projects.Propose alternative actions to resolve identified conflicts. Schedules and coordinates required training for employees toattain and maintain required certifications of the various functions supported. Interfaces and coordinates Operation activities with ProjectManagers to ensure mutual awareness of the project status and planned activities. Administers Health and Safety programs for various specifictasks, keeping Senior Management and Health and Safety Manager appraised of allissues. Enforces project work and safety standards.Performs the role of Site Safety Coordinator. Participates in the planning, scheduling, and maintenance of projectequipment, which involve systems or functions which support environmental,munitions response, site support, and public relations activities. Prepares and submits status reports for performed tasks andprojects to track project performance. Oversees subcontractor performed tasks to ensure quality work,safety, and environmental standards are maintained. Operates and maintains project related equipment includingtrucks, ATVs, UTVs, UAVs, boats, GPSs and advanced survey equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. ?ges1819 Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree (or an equivalency of extensive practical experience) from a science or engineering discipline, analysis, or operations research field. In the absence of formal education, the candidate must demonstrate ability and experience in the management of site operations and related tasks.? 8 years of environmental project experience, including munitions response activities, construction management, and subcontractor oversight.? Experience conducting environmental and/or munitions related project activities in terrestrial and marine environments.? Experience overseeing tasks on munitions or environmental remediation projects.? OSHA HAZWOPER and General Construction certifications. UXO Technician preferred.? Must be able to plan and perform or oversee field work. Local (or willing to relocate) to the Vieques, Puerto Rico area.? The ideal candidate should possess and can demonstrate some of the following:? BS degree in engineering, surveying, geology, or other closely related technical degree.? OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER and 30 Hour General Construction certificates.? US Coast Guard Captains License for small vessels.?
