Tetra Tech has an opening for an Environmental Engineer II / Geologist II /Environmental Scientist II to provide environmental support to various environmental assessment/remediation projects in the southeastern United States. The candidate shall possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of environmental strategies to the completion of challenging assignments; perform civil and environmental projects in accordance with RCRA, CERCLA, UST, CWA and other appropriate state and federal regulations; perform project tasks involving site investigation, evaluation of remedial technologies (including innovative technologies), engineering design, and remediation operations on environmental projects; and perform field assessment and remediation activities as directed by supervisor. Work includes due diligence work and various environmental projects including soil, soil vapor, groundwater investigations, installation and maintenance of remediation systems, field sampling and field supervision of remediation projects. Other education/skills in environmental compliance activities is a plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned. Perform project tasks in the public and private sector. Work/coordinate with project team personnel. Perform technical functions on projects in environmental, geologic, compliance, engineering and construction projects. Preparation and review of engineering documents (e.g., RAP, FS, CMS, SAP). Experience in and knowledgeable with environmental data collection and evaluations for UST, CERCLE, and RCRA sites. Prepare work plans, engineering designs, data evaluations and reports. Provide technical direction and guidance to CADD operators, designers, technicians and field personnel. Assist in preparing remedial action plans, feasibility studies, corrective measure studies, remedial designs, and other engineering documents. Potential to participate in technical and sales presentations to clients. Report writing, generation of figures, tables, and database management; Compliance Plans (SWPP, SPCC, etc.); Permitting and regulatory compliance; Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Environmental Engineering/Environmental Sciences/Geology or a related area; a minimum of 3 to 5 years of related engineering consulting experience. Advanced degree and relevant professional certifications [Engineer-In-Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), etc.] preferred. Direct experience in preparation of FSs/CMSs/SAPs under FDEP and EPA guidance is also desirable.
