Tetra Tech's San Juan office is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Environmental Scientist/Engineer to support a diversity of projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. The successful candidate will have a background in environmental sciences or engineering and maintain strong interdisciplinary skills. Must be highly motivated, customer focused, a critical thinker and problem solver, detail-oriented, and a team player with strong focus on quality. IMMEDIATE RESPONSIBILITIES: Support ongoing Stormwater Management Program Development and Implementation, Hazard Mitigations and Solid Waste Management Programs projects for Puerto Rico Municipalities, develop opportunities with local public and private clients to increase Tetra Tech, Inc Market participation as Environmental Consultants in the territory, participate as a team member in the development of Environmental Documents such as Environmental Impact Statements. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for coordinating and processing permits with local public and federal agencies. Conduct field site visits and providing field work support. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard scientific techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making assessment determinations. Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, and surveys, for which there are precedents. Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in environmental science or engineering, or related science discipline is desired but not required. The candidate must have at least 15 years of relevant professional experience. Demonstrated experience in Stormwater management, RCRA, PR Local Agencies Permit Coordination and Processing, Development of Environmental Assessment Documents, and Phase I studies is required. This position may support a broad range of environmental projects throughout Tetra Tech and requires a professional with the demonstrated ability to work well with clients and Tetra Tech team members. The candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as computer literacy with at least MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Manager.
