Financial Controller

*Job Summary*

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budget preparation, and the development of internal control policies.

*Responsibilities*
* Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities of all or part of an organization.
* Maintain knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
* Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting and other financial staff, recommending and implementing personnel actions, such as promotions and dismissals.
* Receive cash and checks and make deposits.
* Prepare and file annual tax returns or prepare financial information so outside accountants can complete tax returns.
* Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
* Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
* Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations.
* Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and nonorganizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.

*Qualifications*
* Master degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
* Proven experience in financial management roles
* Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial principles
* Proficiency in general ledger reconciliation and account analysis
* Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial reporting
* Experience in public accounting is a plus
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines consistently
