The General Manager for Puerto Rico is accountable for the overall success of the market To drive company's strategy in Puerto Rico through driving business performance, winning in Immuno-oncology, diversifying for long-term growth and evolving culture and executing people strategy and to ensure speed to the patients To provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the commercial activities of the business To drive continued growth in line with the strategic plan and market access To maximize profitability by managing all aspects of the business To be highly visible and responsible for external affairs in an increasingly complex environment To provide inspirational leadership to build a high performing and engaged organization To ensure business objectives are achieved with high level of integrity and compliance To be accountable for alliance management to achieve business results To identify business opportunities and risks and setting overall direction to meet the needs of the company, patients and families, healthcare professionals, and payers Key Role Accountabilities: Strategic Marketing & Business Planning Assumes full P&L responsibility for Puerto Rico Grow a portfolio of products at various stages within product life cycle, including launch experience in a market or region. Achieving Sales and BUC results for the market Designing and implementing new innovative business models and solutions Oversees the full suite of commercial functions including market access, marketing and sales and provides leadership for medical, finance, HR and IT functions Maps the landscape and adapt the strategy to maximize all opportunities for growth Leads the development and execution of customer focused strategy that drives innovation and generate superior short-term and long-term performance through effective resource allocation. Leadership & Compliance Demonstrates business ethics and judgment to enforce internal controls to comply with the company's policies and procedures and relentlessly maintains and develops a compelling culture of compliance. Builds and develops a strong team with a cohesive culture that reflects on mission and commitment of BMS Rolemodels the BMS behaviors Builds and manages a high performance team with focus on operational excellence and a continuous improvement to overcome challenges Fosters culture of diversity and inclusion and encourages collaboration across departments to generate synergies and achieve shared goals Seizes opportunities to enhance the organization's EVP (employee value proposition) & public image and serve as an executive and representative of BMS. Shapes and builds strong market access capabilities Builds and manages relationships with internal stakeholders in Pac Rim and Global commercial and matrix teams Leadership responsibility for the management of all external affairs Role Qualifications College degree 10 years of commercial experience. Successful sales & marketing track record for a significant business and/or geography. Successful country manager track record preferred. Holistic experience within the healthcare industry, with functional expertise across commercial and non-commercial roles. Successful track record of managing a team with P&L responsibilities, demonstrating tangible and significant business impact Ability to manage a team successfully, with direct and indirect reports, by applying the right level of management focus, control and support and ensuring commitment and passion. Experience and track record of both coaching individuals as well as leading teams Ability to set and implement the strategy related to managing a successful business Achievement in order to have a strong impact on the environment internally and externally (industrial association active membership, government affairs experience etc.) Excellent leadership skills; with a strong ability to build, motivate and develop a strongly competent and diverse team Excellent stakeholder management skills; with the ability to influence and persuade the full set of internal and external stakeholders towards achieving target outcomes Ability to lead efficiently in a highly matrix environment Ability to formulate and communicate with outstanding strategic thinking in a highly complex environment.
