GRANT SPECIALIST POSITION SUMMARY:
Works under the direction of a Grant Manager or Senior Grant Manager providing determination of eligible CDBG-DR funding to cover the match requirements associated with FEMA Public Assistance (PA) projects.
GRANT SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides determination of eligible CDBG-DR funding to cover the match requirements associated with FEMA PA projects.
Performs eligibility reviews and assesses FEMA PA project worksheets and related documents as required.
Verifies document completion and accuracy.
Maintains archive files.
Explains CDBG rules and regulations to Grantees.
Assists Grantees with compiling CDBG required documentation.
GRANT SPECIALIST SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to delegate and manage time and resources efficiently.
Strong customer service skills.
Capability to conduct research into project-related issues and products.
Knowledge and skills in Federal grant provisions and requirements.
Knowledge of procurement, labor compliance, environmental requirements.
Knowledge of EEO, financial management, and recordkeeping.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent typing skills and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
GRANT SPECIALIST EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s or technical degree or equivalent work-related experience preferred.
1 to 2 years’ experience in FEMA PA grant administration.
FEMA PA experience working with COR3 preferred.
Good writing skills.
Good computer skills.
GRANT SPECIALIST REQUIREMENTS:
Spanish speaking is required.
