*ABOUT THE SCHOOL*
Located in the beautiful seaside town of Dorado, Puerto Rico, The TASIS School in Dorado, also known as TASIS Dorado, is an independent, non-sectarian, coeducational, not-for-profit, college-preparatory day school affiliated with The American School in Switzerland (TASIS) Schools in Switzerland, England, and Portugal. English is the primary language of instruction, and mastery of multiple languages is fostered from PPK to Grade Twelve. TASIS Dorado is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit institution under the U.S. and Puerto Rico tax codes. Founded in 2002 and located 15 miles west of San Juan, TASIS Dorado is set among 20 verdant acres in the Sabanera Dorado neighborhood of Dorado. Interconnected buildings surround lush courtyards filled with trees and flowers. *Upper School History Teacher*
The Upper School History Teacher is responsible for designing, organizing, and delivering an innovative and engaging history curriculum that inspires students to explore global civilizations, cultures, and events from ancient times to the present. This role is integral in fostering a dynamic and supportive learning environment where students develop critical thinking, research, analytical, and communication skills. Under the guidance of the Division Director, the History Teacher will work to connect historical understanding with contemporary global issues, empowering students to become informed, thoughtful, and responsible global citizens.

*Historical Mentorship:* Guide students in developing research skills, analytical writing, and evidence-based argumentation. Encourage independent thought and meaningful connections between past and present.
*Assessment and Feedback:* Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, projects, and discussions. Use assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth.
*Classroom Management:* Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and focused classroom environment by establishing clear expectations and building positive relationships with students.
*Record Keeping:* Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessment results, and academic performance in accordance with school policies and reporting requirements.

*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:*
* *Educational Background:* B.A./B.S. degree in Education, History or a related field from an accredited institution.
* *Teaching Certification:* Valid teaching certification in History or a related subject area.
* *Interpersonal Skills:* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
* *Communication Skills:* Strong verbal and written communication abilities with the capacity to explain complex literary and linguistic concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
* *Technology Proficiency:* Competency in using relevant educational technologies and digital tools to support World History instruction and student learning.
* *Bilingual Skills:* Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
