The Puerto Rico Public Health Trust (PRPHT), established in 2019, is a program of the PRSTRT. We serve as a public health institute for Puerto Rico with the purpose of promoting innovative, evidence-based public health practices to achieve systematic health improvements, increase access to health programs, and reduce inequities in the communities of Puerto Rico. We serve as a trusted ally working with health equity and social determinants of health, in collaboration with public and private partners to identify and execute community driven, evidence-based solutions.
Purpose
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced HIV Education and Clinical Advisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will hold an MD or PhD in a relevant field and possess extensive expertise in Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) research, clinical practice, and education. This role involves developing, leading, and delivering educational strategies such as ECHO, courses, and workshops for healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Design, develop, and update educational content on HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care.
Lead and facilitate engaging courses, workshops, and training sessions for diverse audiences.
Serve as a resource and advisor on HIV-related topics, ensuring accuracy and relevance of information.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate the latest research and best practices into educational materials.
Mentor and support other educators, trainers, and healthcare providers in HIV-related topics.
Qualifications & Technical Job Requirements
Familiarity with innovative educational methodologies, including ECHO sessions and virtual learning platforms.
Experience mentoring and supporting educators, trainers, and healthcare providers in HIV-related topics.
Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to incorporate evidence-based practices and the latest research into educational materials.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.
Up-to-date knowledge of current trends, guidelines, and research in HIV.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
Experience & Educational Requirements
Doctoral degree (PhD or MD) in Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Public Health, or a closely related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in HIV research, clinical practice, or education.
OR
Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Epidemiology, Infectious Diseases), with a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in HIV research, clinical practice, or education, demonstrating subject matter expertise.
Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering courses, workshops, or training programs.
Experience with adult learning methodologies is highly desirable.
