*Job Summary*
The IT Technician provides essential technical support to ensure the effective operation of the school's technology infrastructure. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining equipment, training staff, and assisting with the development and implementation of technological systems. The IT Technician plays a key role in optimizing user experience, supporting day-to-day operations, and contributing to a secure and efficient digital environment across the school.
*Essential Responsibilities*
Respond promptly to user inquiries and technical issues, providing support for hardware and software operations to ensure minimal disruption to daily workflows.
Monitor and maintain the daily performance of computer systems and technology infrastructure, including copiers, smartboards, projectors, and related devices across the school.
Conduct diagnostics and reference technical documentation to troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions or provide appropriate technical assistance.
Set up and configure equipment for staff use, ensuring proper installation of hardware, cables, operating systems, and software applications.
Develop and deliver training sessions and materials, supporting users in the effective use of hardware, software, and systems to enhance productivity.
Escalate complex issues or equipment failures to external vendors or service providers, coordinating timely service and follow-up.
Input system commands and verify performance, observing system responses to detect and correct errors during use or installation.
Maintain accurate records of technical activities, including support tickets, issues resolved, installations completed, and equipment inventory.
Perform installations and minor repairs on computers, peripherals, and software, following specifications and best practices to ensure optimal functionality.
Evaluate hardware and software performance, recommending upgrades or enhancements that align with user needs and school objectives.
Collaborate with staff and leadership to gather technology requirements, supporting system design, implementation, or modification projects.
Customize commercial software programs to address specific internal requirements and improve workflow efficiency.
Prepare and inspect equipment for deployment, ensuring that all devices meet user specifications prior to delivery or installation.
Conduct feasibility studies and workflow analyses to assess the effectiveness of office automation tools and support informed decision-making.
*Administer and maintain the school's website*, ensuring timely updates, accurate content, and functional performance by managing edits, structural changes, and user accessibility to support communication and engagement with the school community.
Support the administrative team in operational and technical tasks, contributing to the overall effectiveness of school operations.
Perform other tasks as needed by the School.
*Requirements*
*Education: *Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
*English level: *Fully bilingual: Spanish & English (Advanced level)
*Professional Experience: *1-2 years of information technology experience
*Technical Skills: *
- Microsoft office systems (word, excel, power point)
- Operating Systems: Windows, macOS, ChromeOS
- Basic Networking (LAN/WAN, IP configuration, Wi-Fi setup)
- Device Management Platforms (e.g., Jamf, Google Admin Console)

- AV Equipment Support (smartboards, sound systems, projectors)
- Website Administration (WordPress, Wix, or other CMS platforms)
- Basic HTML and CSS for web updates

Work environment characteristics described are only representative of those encountered by the employee while performing essential job functions. Work is performed inside our facility at normal temperature, air conditioning, good lighting, and clean areas with minimum risk. Noise level is moderate. Standard office equipment is used to perform tasks: computer, telephone, photocopier, and calculator.
