*Job Summary*
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our dynamic optical laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting high-volume production of optical lenses, ensuring precise laboratory procedures, and maintaining quality standards. Your expertise in ophthalmology, laboratory techniques, and equipment setup will contribute to delivering exceptional vision solutions. *Duties*
* Operate and maintain optical lens edgers, CNC lathes, and other precision machining equipment to produce high-quality lenses.
* Set up laboratory equipment according to production specifications, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
* Interpret ophthalmic prescriptions, including lens parameters and abbreviations, to accurately manufacture corrective lenses.
* Conduct quality assurance checks by identifying lens parameters, verifying measurements, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards specific to the location.
* Manage laboratory workflows by organizing materials, tracking production progress, and adhering to laboratory procedures.
* Apply mechanical knowledge and laboratory techniques to troubleshoot equipment issues and optimize manufacturing processes.
* Maintain detailed records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and quality control data for regulatory compliance.
*Experience*
* Proven experience working in an optical laboratory or manufacturing environment with high-volume production.
* Strong understanding of ophthalmology principles, including anatomy and physiology relevant to vision correction.
* Hands-on experience with optical lens edgers, CNC lathe machines, and other machining tools used in lens fabrication.
* Familiarity with optical laboratory procedures, lens parameter identification, and ophthalmic prescription abbreviation interpretation.
* Knowledge of ISO standards applicable to optical manufacturing processes within the specified location.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and mechanical diagrams related to laboratory equipment setup.
* Previous retail sales experience is a plus for understanding customer needs but not mandatory.
