What You’ll Get to Do:Provide engineering and technical assistance to support operational requirements for tactical communications networks.Provide standards and guidelines from Project 25 (P25), TIA Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 88A and TIA TSB88-A-1 Wireless Communications Systems Performance in Noise and Interference Limited Situations, legacy standards and guidelines for C4I, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST 7.0).Provide expertise and guidance in a variety of communication system topologies such as: conventional tactical communications systems (including experience with OTAR, trunking, and data), microwave, VoIP, and IT architectures.Provide and develop propagation analyses/coverage plots, engineering diagrams, and backbone diagrams. Continuously analyze and review existing tactical equipment configurations and designs to provide recommendations to minimize costs and improve performance.Provide systems engineering support for tactical communications networks, including both wireless and cable components.Perform requirement assessments, analysis, and evaluation of existing and long-term requirements for secure/private tactical communications networks.Serve as the technical information repository to facilitate the fielding and deployment of advanced technologies.
