The Learning and Development Lead supports and facilitates learning and development activities for the Site, and supports the design and execution of the learning plan to achieve business results. The role supports the MMD Learning and Development organization in the execution of the L and D strategy through consulting and delivery on appropriate learning solutions. The incumbent interacts with and influences people managers to understand business goals and performance needs, develops and executes learning plans aligned to the broader site strategy, and routinely engages with key stakeholders to ensure learning solutions continue to support and positively drive desired outcomes. Also, collaborates with leaders across the organization to act as a partner and point of contact for the business' performance needs and communicate them to support design and delivery of learning solutions.
The position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; preparing/updating the training curriculum for each position in his/her area of responsibility; assuring compliance with the position/task training requirements for each employee; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The position is based in Merck Las Piedras and does not include relocation assistance.
Qualifications
Requirements:
:Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology or other life science; or Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business Administration or Psychology. Master's Degree in Education or I/O Psychology highly desirable.
:Minimum of 10 years of related experience in learning and development, organizational development, or human resources with minimum five (5) years of people management experience.
:Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
:Experience in learning and development, in the pharmaceutical industry, preferred.
:Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish, oral and written).
:Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. Expertise in Excel highly desirable.
:Knowledge in Learning Theory.
:Knowledge and skills in training evaluation, competence identification, questioning, information search, feedback and organizational development theories and techniques.
:Strong Presentation and Facilitation skills.
