Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team in the Dietary department. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking delicious meals for our customers. Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as peeling, grating, and marinating
- Cook menu items in accordance with recipes and portion control guidelines
- Ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and meets food safety standards
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Clean and maintain work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination
- Assist with catering events as needed
Skills:
- Proven experience as a cook or prep cook in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knife skills and ability to handle kitchen equipment safely
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Culinary training or certification is a plus
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
