The Market Data team at Goldman Sachs delivers analytics, pricing and reference data, both real-time and historical reflecting all major markets and financial instruments to our internal and external clients.
The role provides the opportunity to directly contribute to managing the firms operating costs by building data analytics and automated workflow that help end-users to manage their market data subscriptions effectively as well as coordinating with internal business teams on the selection of products and providing guidance to internal users on data services appropriate for specific roles.
The team is responsible for negotiating all data licensing and commercial terms with third party vendors. The team coordinates directly with internal business sponsors on data requirements as well as legal counsel, Technology Risk, Compliance and the Vendor Management Office - to ensure vendor solutions meet firm policies and standards. The role provides the opportunity to identify cost saving opportunities and build strong relationships with all divisions in the Firm while supporting strategic projects.

Continually evaluate the vendor landscape to identify new offerings that may increase value and efficiency for our employees who require access to market data
As the primary representative for Firm, you will be accountable for maintaining the Firm’s reputation with our suppliers
Ownership of high profile Vendor relationships for new contract negotiations, renewals and all other vendor oversight activities
You will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication
Building data analytics using popular storage and visualization technologies to empower market data users to manage their costs
Interface with divisional leadership and front office users to implement expense management initiatives
Basic Qualifications/Experience
General understanding of market data licensing terms
2 years’ minimum experience in Market Data
experience in vendor negotiation and relationship management
Senior stakeholder’s engagement; ability to confidently communicate with and influence
Mandarin language proficiency
Nice to have
Experience of the MDSL MDM inventory system
Vendor management, exchange licensing and/or business analysis experience
FISD’s Financial Information Associate certification
Proficient use of tier 1 market data vendor desktop software
General understanding of the capital markets
Experience of the MDSL MDM inventory system
Knowledge of data vendor and exchange licensing terms
Python and SQL programming skills
Experience of publishing and modeling data with distributed storage platforms such as Hadoop
Experience with using visualization software (Tableau, Qlikview or equivalent)
