Material Handler/ Operator I

Job Purpose:
CEVA Logistics is currently hiring a Material Handler/ Operator I located in Aguadilla, PR. The Material Handler/ Operator I will assist warehouse staff in receiving general cargo including the manual loading and unloading with the use of a pallet jack, hand truck or forklift, general labor, and warehouse maintenance. May be assigned to a single major account for training under the direct supervision of a Supervisor or Senior Distribution Specialist. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

Key Accountabilties:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Develop and maintain excellent service to internal and external customers at all times.
Assist in receiving cargo by removing from truck by hand, or using manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack. May also use forklift.
Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received. Bring any exceptions to the attention of Distribution Specialist II or above.
Record receipts to “on-hand” form and to log book.
Assist in segregating cargo received by account or intended location.
Perform various manual labor functions such as hand loading containers.
Learn the basic functions of a major account, e.g., shipment requirements, markings, etc.
Perform various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, storing equipment, etc.

Requirements:
Education and Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Less than one year related experience.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack.
Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs.
Read, write and speak English fluently.
Read, comprehend and write basic correspondence.
Effectively present information one-on-one or in small group situations.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Balances team and individual responsibilities.
Consistently at work and on time.
Valid state issued driver's license.
