The Opportunity:
The Metrology Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end metrology and calibration operations across various laboratory environments including electrical, mass, volume, mechanical, and temperature. This role ensures compliance with industry standards and leads strategic improvements to calibration processes. The ideal candidate will also serve as a key business developer, aligning growth initiatives with operational excellence and client needs in Life Sciences, and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational and Technical Leadership:
Oversee metrology lab operations and manage calibration across electrical, dimensional, mechanical, mass, and thermodynamic parameters.
Administer and enhance laboratory SOPs, calibration procedures, and policy documentation.
Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives and drive quality control improvements.
Manage internal and external audits related to calibration and metrology compliance.
Supervise lab personnel and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and technical standards are met.
Process Improvement & Program Management:
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects related to calibration workflows.
Coordinate change control processes and manage calibration program enhancements.
Act as a consultant and liaison between quality management and calibration teams.
Strategic Business Development:
Drive and execute growth strategies for the CMC Laboratory, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives.
Develop and scale a Laboratory Asset Management Business Unit across multiple sectors.
Build strategic partnerships with stakeholders, clients, and industry bodies to unlock new value opportunities.
Lead deployment of Asset Management, Reliability Engineering, and Capital Project Management services.
Champion operational excellence and digital transformation in technical operations.
Must be flexible, adaptable, and multi-task oriented.
Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; forward-thinking.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Metrology, or a related scientific field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a metrology, calibration, or quality assurance role.
Proven experience managing metrology labs and developing calibration programs.
Strong knowledge of CAPA, change control, and quality control processes.
Ability to manage Scientific Services by applying math formulas.
Ability to travel as needed to customer sites across the island.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to comply with all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances, and medical checkups.
Experience in business development and strategic planning is highly desirable.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
