Microbiologist

Supports Production by performing applicable Microbiological tests required for the release of components and products.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards and procedures. It include the

following:
Bacterial challenge test
Microbial growth
Endotoxin test (L.A.L.)
Sterility tests
Microbiological water analysis
Spore population determination
Environmental monitoring for all Clean Rooms

Air Sampling
Surface
Particle counts (non-viable)

Prepares culture media and maintains culture stocks.
Cleans glassware and equipment.
Initiates and keeps test results and records
Maintain inventory of supplies needed to support tests
Submits or suggests changes to existing procedures as appropriate.
Assures compliance with GMP's and GLP's.
Prepares and issues reports as necessary.
Supports other areas, as needed.
Investigates non-conformances, takes appropriate actions and records events.

Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Bioloqy, Microbioloqy, Industrial Microbioloqy or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bilingual - English and Spanish
Experience in Pharmaceutical / Medical Devices Industry Lab is desirable.
Able to work with computer programs such as: SAP, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience in working with laboratory equipment and computer software. Some knowledge in statistics is desirable.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance

instructions, procedure manuals and drawings.
Proven technical writing skills.
