AECOM is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic mid-level air services practitioner to join our consulting team in Morrisville, NC. Responsibilities of this position include leading and executing projects involving air quality-related environmental permitting and compliance services. Related activities include performing studies and analyses, regulatory research, preparing air permit applications, auditing, developing spreadsheets to calculate air emissions, interfacing with clients and regulators, developing and conducting client training, reviewing and overseeing the activities of other staff, and compiling and writing reports and other documents. The successful candidate will assist clients with assessing and achieving compliance with air quality requirements at federal, state, and local levels. The candidate will lead tasks and execute projects while meeting firm cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives by effectively coordinating and communicating with clients, project team members, project managers, and other AECOM offices. The candidate will also mentor less-experienced staff. As appropriate to the candidate's qualifications, the candidate may also support projects related to other environmental media (waste, water, etc.).

Additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Providing permit and compliance-related technical support to clients.

- Supporting team marketing efforts, including proposal development, client presentations, and follow-up communications.

- Interacting with clients to support, guide, and strategically plan permit and compliance activities.

- Providing timely and quality work product.

- Promoting and demonstrating a positive, collaborative attitude.

- Conducting strategic regulatory analyses.

- Interfacing with regulators, including assisting with pre-application meetings, negotiation of permit conditions, and enforcement actions.

- Evaluating the effectiveness of control technologies with respect to emission reductions and associated costs.

- Meeting AECOM safety objectives by completing all assigned training and planning requirements.

- Supporting AECOM's quality objectives by conducting internal technical reviews and detail checks of other team members' work product.

Minimum Requirements

- BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

- Must posses valid driver's license

- Must be able to pass background check to include federal, drug screening and motor vehicle report.

- Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, noise, and the presence of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment. Position requires frequent keyboard/mouse operations; often standing/walking, operation of vehicles, and climbing stairs; occasionally working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment; rarely working with arms above shoulder level, performing repetitive bending & stooping, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), working at heights, using portable ladders, operating heavy, moving or dangerous equipment, performing repetitive or fine hand movements, working alone in isolated areas, and lifting of less than 25 pounds and 25 to75 pounds. Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment, including fall protection equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

- 6+ years of air quality-related environmental permitting and compliance experience.

- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Power Point.

- Strong written and oral communication, research, quantitative, and interpersonal skills

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines.

- Ability to collaborate with other professionals at varying experience levels.

- Must be a United States citizen.

- Must possess a valid US driver's license.

- Willingness to travel occasionally (10 to 20% of time).

- Willingness to participate in seconded positions at client facilities.

- Relevant experience supporting air permit and compliance work in one or more of the following areas: chemical manufacturing, oil/gas, general manufacturing, heavy industry, municipalities, federal facilities, power plants, data centers, sustainability, air dispersion modeling, due diligence, or multimedia environmental compliance auditing.

- Prior project and task management experience, including developing proposals, pursuing marketing efforts, and balancing project budgets.
