General Description
Analyze mortgage customer’s applications in the shortest time possible, evaluate all the elements that make up the application of mortgage lending, to make a final decision on the approval or denial of it.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews and evaluates information on mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property, and loan conditions meet establishment and government standards. Determines terms and acceptability of risk of prospective clients. Approves or rejects loan application, or requests additional information. Records loan rejections, specifying investor and institution guidelines and basis for declining application, such as insufficient cash reserves. Assembles documents in loan files, including acceptance or denial, and returns files to originating mortgage loan office.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration
Experience
Three to five years related experience.
Other Qualifications
- Knowledge in principles and techniques of mortgage financing, such as taxes, insurance, credit and market trends, also in regulations and requirements established by the state and federal regulatory agencies for approval or denial of mortgage loans.
- Basic knowledge in Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to the mortgage banking.
- Knowledge of Popular Mortgage products and services.
- Knowledge of Operational procedures.
- Use properly programs Encompass, Internet Explorer and other programs related to the position.
- Understand and communicate effectively in English and Spanish, orally and in writing.
- Capacity for critical analysis and interpretation of data.
- Demonstrate ability to achieve its goals of business line.
- Integrate and effectively evaluate all information when measuring the risk associated with the approval of a mortgage loan and determine the opportunity cost.
