A career within External Audit services, will provide you with the opportunity to provide a range of Assurance services and business advice to a variety of clients from small, fast growing clients to large entities. Our clients are often well known brands and many have broad international reach. We focus on using the latest technology to reduce the level of manual testing ensuring you'll focus on the most valuable areas of client service and on enhancing corporate governance and the reliability of our clients' information. Responsibilities As a Director, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Proactively lead the practise by setting strategy, drive the development of new business in the market, and provide technical advice across disciplines Building strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalise on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading across a number of different business units and sectors Identifying and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities Responsibility for a majority of day to day client communications Responsibility to shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of our clients and our own assignment quality criteria Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team Responsibility for management of engagement financials Helping to grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching Additional Responsibilities: The Assurance Centers of Excellence (COE) provides a career opportunity within our external audit practice to virtually lead & execute specific audit areas from scoping through completion. COEs directly support engagement teams, performing specifically identified audit areas across a portfolio of clients using the latest technology. In the COE you will focus on highly judgmental areas of the audit requiring subject matter insight to enhance the reliability of our clients' information. International hires are required to hold the equivalent accounting certification in the selected individual's home country. Hires from a PwC affiliate firm must meet the requirements for a PwC US Director in that PwC affiliate firm. Preferred Qualifications: Certification(s) Preferred: CPA license in work office state Preferred Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrates thought leader-level knowledge with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (U.S. GAAP), United States Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (US GAAS) and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards, emphasizing an overall intimate understanding - for the respective industry - of the applicable business and accounting issues, and technical accounting and financial reporting standards. Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in the following areas: Whole Leadership: setting and demonstrating high standards of integrity even in the face of ethical challenges; being inclusive in my actions and making sure others feel considered and respected; and, arranging appropriate assignments and experiences to support others' learning and development. Business Acumen: seeking different ways to use current and relevant technological advances; analyzing marketplace trends - economical, social, cultural, & technological - to identify opportunities and create value propositions; and, focusing on profitability and long term sustainable growth for firm and a portfolio of clients. Technical Capabilities: setting the tone in promoting risk management and compliance procedures; contributing technical specialization in my area of specialism; and, deploying methods to keep up with, and stay ahead of, new developments and ideas. Global Acumen: continuously applying my learnings about other parts of the Network to my business and portfolio of clients; offering a global perspective to engagement teams and when shaping solutions/recommendations for clients; and, discussing the impact of key global and societal trends. Relationships: translating complex messages to facilitate others' understanding; anticipating client/engagement team needs and delivering high quality, value-added services, which elevate the profile of the firm in the eyes of the client; and, proactively managing stakeholders to create positive outcomes for all parties. Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in driving, and thought leadership in areas involving, automation & digitization in a professional services environment, including the following areas: innovating through new and existing technologies, along with experimenting with digitization solutions; working with large, complex data sets to build models and leveraging data visualization tools to provide insights to clients and engagement teams; and, transforming the business by creating capacity and delivering an enhanced employee and client experience.
