Robert Half Technology is seeking a Network Engineer with a high attention to detail and a passion for the field. This Network Engineer position is an opportunity for long-term temporary-to-full-time employment and is based in the Levitttown, Pennsylvania area.
What you get to do every day
- Initiate and manage network test facilities
- Provide high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including hardware, hubs, bridges and routers
- Maintain a secure transfer of data to a variety of locations via internal and external networks
- Use traditional and creative methods to engineer enterprise data, voice and video networks
- Work collaboratively with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on network implementation, optimization and ongoing management
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Desktop Operating System
- Network Operating System experience
- General familiarity with Data Center Environment
- Experience with VMware
- Knowledge of Network Routing
- Proven knowledge of SANscreen
- Well-founded grasp of NAS Technologies
- VPNs (virtual private networks) experience desired
- 3+ years networking experience
- An understanding of networking such as switching and routing is preferred
