The Role The Molinos Finance Manager is responsible for the overall financial management of Molinos de Puerto Rico, LLC and its joint venture, Molinos Premium Rice, LLC. This Manager is also responsible for supporting the Molinos President & General Manager (“GM”) in developing and driving key business initiatives, which requires knowledge and skills in business functions beyond finance and accounting. The Molinos Finance Manager and Molinos GM work together closely to manage the P&Ls and Balance Sheets of the Puerto Rico companies and are accountable for reporting accurate, complete, and timely information to Ardent Mills leadership. This role is an excellent opportunity to not only expand your skill set across all finance and accounting functions, but to also get great general business exposure as a key leader over the business every day. Key Accountabilities Key responsibilities include managing the local accounting team and the supporting accounting functions in Denver; ensuring design and operational effectiveness of controls over the quality of accounting information that is produced and reported, both internally and externally; supporting the functional areas of the companies’ value chains; clearly communicating forecasts and results to senior leadership of Ardent Mills; preparing business analyses to help guide management’s business decisions; partnering with the GM in managing the unique Premium Rice joint venture; preparing various contracts and agreements in collaboration with Ardent Legal; and providing other ad hoc support to the Molinos GM. This role is a key leader of Molinos de Puerto Rico and requires a very broad skillset, as this position’s responsibilities touch many different areas in and out of the typical “finance function” and this frequently requires one to rapidly redirect attention. The Molinos Finance Manager reports directly to the Molinos GM from a business perspective and reports to the Business Unit Finance Sr. Director in Denver from a functional perspective. Manage the local accounting team and its functions: Finance Mill Ops and Inventory Control, Corporate Accounting and FP&A, Credit/Collections and Cash Apps, Payables (including Goods Receipts mgmt.), Treasury/Banking Consult and Collaborate with supporting finance functions in Denver (e.g. Risk Finance, Capital, Tax, etc.) Implement and maintain efficient and effective internal controls across the business processes including managing accounting policies and procedures, including effective metrics to track progress, trends, etc. Prepare weekly and monthly forecasts and the annual operating plan for Molinos (Flour and Grain businesses) and Premium Rice Own the monthly financial close process for Puerto Rico and report out results to Ardent SLT Manage the two annual financial audits (by KPMG) for local audit requests and preparation/review of reports Manage the periodic income, property, municipal, sales and use tax filing requirements in collaboration with local tax CPA and Ardent Tax Prepare and/or review legal documents in collaboration with local attorneys and Ardent Legal, e.g. customer or supplier contracts, purchase agreements, claims, etc. Prepare ad hoc scenario and sensitivity analyses for Puerto Rico businesses, especially Premium Rice Manage the Pricing, Customer Ops, Inventory, Mill Ops, Dispatch, and Collections for the Premium Rice company As needed, participate with Molinos SLT in environmental scanning, gap analysis, SWOT analysis, and business growth activities Collect macro/micro external environment and incorporate into assumptions for financial planning Drive optimization in systems: work with other functional leaders in the value chain to improve efficiency and effectiveness of what matters. Skills & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant credentials are beneficial Prior experience working with a Manufacturing/Inventory business and/or Mark-to-Market environment Demonstrated strong financial reporting and technical skills with deep understanding of GAAP regulatory compliance An understanding of various business and finance functions: Order-to-Cash, Procurement-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, etc. Demonstrated applications of your strategic and analytical mindset Budgeting and Forecasting experience Experience in implementing ERP systems and new processes Experience designing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls and effective policies Demonstrated communication (both written and verbal), presentation and influencing skills Approximately 15% travel Other Ardent Mills is an equal opportunity employer.
