Foreclosure Technician

General Description: Review and analyze accounts in default assigned into the foreclosure and/or bankruptcy processes. Interact with internal business units and/or external business partners in relation to the day-to-day processing, performance and compliance activities related to residential mortgages in default and assigned to the foreclosure process and 2nd mortgage default populations in accordance with investor, insurer and/or BPPR's specific guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor activities of all assigned foreclosure and senior lien monitor cases from time loan is referred to attorney until the collateral property is foreclosed and transferred to REO. Comply with all guidelines and requirements set forth by government agencies, BPPR and private investors. Maintain and monitor caseload by updating foreclosure workstation system. Knowledge in reviewing property title reports. Telephone contact with attorneys, regulators and junior/senior lien holders. Monitor attorneys' progress in relation to foreclosure timeline requirements; Reviews legal documentation associated with the legal process; Request payoff and reinstatement figures for attorneys and mortgagors; Work on holds report to determine validity of holds on accounts; Prepare bidding instructions; Other duties as assigned. Education: 60 credits bachelor's degree credits approved. Experience: One (1) year of experience in a similar position. Other qualifications: Proficiency in English and Spanish, oral and written, with excellent writing skills in both languages. Ability to work under pressure, multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in the work plan. Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork and communication with people from different areas and levels in the organization. Ability to work strictly confidential information. Mastery and application of techniques or skills of managing computers and applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent communication skills and good dealings with clients (external and internal)/ Wide Knowledge in all the products that are worked in Popular.
