Role Summary: You will provide technical leadership and automation support to the manufacturing plant. The position will be responsible for managing and delivering automation projects from concept to post implementation including developing project scope, user requirements, appropriation requests, time-lines and budgets, qualification plans, approving equipment specifications and documentation to meet current company, corporate and government requirements. Managing the purchase, installation and start-up of equipment and system including adherence to compliance, cost and time schedule requirements. Key Responsibilities: •Manage all tasks based on the responsibilities for project phases (Concept, Planning, Design, Implementation and Post-Implementation). This person will also manage the project implementation team including external consultants and contractors. Accountable for achievement of project milestones. •Provide technical support for automation projects including system design and development, capital project execution, manufacturing technical support, new product introduction and process improvement initiatives with responsibility for assisting with project execution and site stakeholder alignment. •Manage, plan and execute automation assignments generally involving complex projects. •Perform complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/processes/techniques. •Track and trend data, identify and implement process improvements to improve business measures. Optimize current processes and manufacturing equipment to provide measurable improvements in step change, productivity, quality, cost, and safety results. •Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client satisfaction, goals and objectives. •Prepare or approve technical memos, reports, analyzes and summarizes data, and recommends conclusions based on engineering/technical rationale. Review and approve reports and confirm conclusions are based on engineering/technical rationale. •Responsible for the technical support for manufacturing trouble shooting and quality investigations. Participates in development of short and long term solutions to prevent recurrence. •Conduct interdependent partnering with cross-functional peer group and management. •Lead a technical team or primary technical lead on cross functional teams. Ability to lead and coordinate project activities, resources, etc. •Assist with Reviews of Computer System Validation documentation such as plans, protocols and reports as required. •Develop, deliver and maintain automation project schedules, resources and budgets for assigned projects to meet project objectives on time and within budget. •Prepare and lead review of project proposals, charters, project updates for assigned projects for management. •Independently manage projects from concept to post implementation for more complex projects. Demonstrate the methodology to solve problems independently. •Provides technical direction to external resources (e.g. designers, suppliers, contractors, consultants). •Effectively influence people, multiple projects and tasks of various complexities. •Serve as technical subject matter expert regarding changes/improvements/CIPs and sustainability. •May provide direction and mentorship to Co-ops and entry level engineers. •Maintain training proficiency on cGMPS, SOP’s, testing procedures, and data analysis as required. •Decisions made at this level may have direct impact on supply chain. •Work under minimal supervision. Qualifications •A minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science or any other engineering discipline is required. •A minimum of 6 years of experience within the pharmaceutical, consumer, or another highly regulated industry is required. •Knowledge and experience with OSI Pi and Wonderware (i.e. InBatch, ArchestrA, InTouch) is highly preferred. •Knowledge in commissioning, qualification and validation is required. •Project Management Skills required. •Process Excellence and Problem solving knowledge preferred. •Relevant engineering, technical, and/or operations experience is required. •Knowledge of cGMPs and Good Documentation Practices is required. •Experience working in FDA/cGMP compliance environment preferred. •Oral and written communication and presentation skills are required. •Proficiency of the English and Spanish Language is required.
