*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting Retina specialists in providing high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding and willingness to learn about ophthalmic procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages.*Duties*
* Gather preliminary patient medical history.
* Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity tests, tonometry, OCT, fundus photography and fluorescein angiography.
* Assist in minor surgical procedures and ensure aseptic techniques are followed.
* Maintain and manage medical records accurately and efficiently.
* Educate patients on eye care, treatment options, and post-operative care.
* Collaborate with Retina specialists to provide comprehensive patient care.
* Handle retail sales of eye vitamins and related products when necessary.
*Skills*
* Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and vision.
* Proficiency in aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
* Familiarity with medical terminology specific to ophthalmology is a plus.
* Ability to manage medical records with attention to detail.
* Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
