The Role This position is for Ardent Mills, a proposed Joint Venture between Cargill, Incorporated, ConAgra Foods and CHS, Inc. Key purpose of this position is to provide leadership for all aspects of the facility to deliver results that meet quality, customer service, safety, innovation and cost criteria. The Plant Manager will: Provide active leadership in work force planning, sourcing and talent development to foster a high performing team Lead a zero loss manufacturing culture focused on continuous improvement and delivering world class sustainable performance. Provide effective direction and coordination of all operational activites Lead and assure a safe working environment and compliance with all E, H & S and Food Safety Standards Formulate or approve short- and long-term operating objectives in areas such as cost reduction, quality improvement, new product development and/or integration as undertaken at the plant level. Provide leadership of continuous improvement processes (including cost management) Drive customer execution to deliver results that meet quality and customer service objectives Develop strong customer interaction and relationships Effectively collaborate across all functions to achieve optimal total business margin for the plant and the enterprise Provide positive labor relations management, contract negotiation and/or union avoidance Maintain and safeguard the fixed assets of the corporation Key Accountabilities Leadership Lead the Ardent Mills Way via our Ardent Mills Vision and Values, championing an exceptional customer experience, driving strong cross-functional collaboration, business and community partnerships both internally and externally, and commitment to achieve business results. Provide leadership to ensure a strong culture of accountability where employees are committed and motivated to contribute their ideas and efforts. Develop site talent and capability necessary to deliver the expected business objectives by attracting and retaining high performing talent. Operational Excellence Manage operations, including food safety, plant quality, customer experience, employee and asset safety, plant security, plant environmental, cost savings, continuous improvement, adoption of initiatives and innovation that generate world class efficiencies, and competitive positioning. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with Ardent Mills, federal, state and local regulations. Ensure all employees are trained in safety and food safety programs, policies, and procedures. Skills & Experience BS preferred but not required and/or and 7 years related work experience in Milling or related manufacturing Industry 7 years related work experience in Milling or related manufacturing industry Expertise, prior experience and demonstrated outcomes in various facits of manufacturing required Experience with production systems and processes Knowledge and experience in continuous improvement methodologies, tools, trends and best practices Strong knowledge of reliability practices Proven analytical and decision making skills Collaborative and energizing leadership and people management skills This role requires competencies in the areas of influence, communication, teamwork, interpersonal effectiveness, initiative and process discipline. Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously Ability to use tact, judgement and diplomacy Ability to build strong working relationships Ability to prioritize, plan and execute Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to coach and provide feedback Experience in creating/modifying/writing specifications, training materials, and/or best practices Capability and willingness to continue to develop and broaden an extensive knowledge of relevant areas of expertise Ability to effectively lead and influence across all levels within the organization.
