PMC Zone Manager is responsible for leading a team ofProtective & Marine Coating sales professionals whose goals are to sell andmarket existing or new products to customers within a geographic area and/or anindustry sector. The key objective forthe Zone Sales Manager is to meet the business' objectives for profitable andsustainable growth. This position isexpected to have a positive impact on the company's sales objectives throughongoing, consistent and complete communication. The Zone Manager will be expectedto demonstrate above average financial skills relative to understanding thefinancial implications of expenses vs. revenues and complex large scale rebatescenarios. The Zone Sales Manager will work within an establishedbudget and may assume or be assigned account manager responsibilities forspecial customer accounts within their area of responsibility. They will also coordinate the relationshipbetween customers, PPG leadership, the distribution function, Credit and otherPPG functions as needed. The geographic area of responsibility is in the UnitedStates as assigned by the Director of Sales. Additional responsibilities of the Zone Manager include: Establish sales targets and goals Develop and manage account strategies andtactics Customer complaint resolution or coordinationwith management for resolution Facilitate meetings and engagement at levels ofdecision making within the customer base Be actively aware and promote PPG EHS policies –manage all activities in compliance with PPG Blueprint objectives, EHS goals,Quality policy, business conduct and code of ethics and expense policies.Communicate and promote the PPG Pillars and vision. Lead ongoing development of employees and setclear and consistent performance expectations Manages and grows major account relationships byevaluating prospect's needs and developing a Value Proposition and presentingto the decision makers within select account. Develop internal partnerships to effectivelymanage the zone Have a clear understanding of the financialimpact of the PPG Value Proposition and demonstrate your ability to communicatethis at all levels of the organization Communicate effectively at all levels ofcustomer organizations, including top executives. Maintain a progressive professional image to thecustomer in order to enhance PPG's marketing position. Proactively manage to generate new business andto ensure repeat business by cultivating accounts, supplying good service, andby settling complaints promptly and equitably. Develop continued acceptance and recognition ofPPG products as "World Class." Ensure complete use of current CRM tools throughongoing personal use Actively participate in industry functions Take on special projects as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Experience in the chemicals and coatings fieldwith an understanding of PPG product technology. Strong organizational, interpersonal, &decision making skills with an aptitude for sales. A degree in chemistry, business management,engineering, or equivalent work experience, is desirable. Progressive sales responsibilities with aminimum of 10 years related experience People leadership of up to 10 direct reports orequivalent indirect reporting influence preferred Strong negotiation skills are required tomaximize profitable growth opportunities with key retailers Ability to set strategic direction for the zoneand ensure vision is implemented by direct and indirect reports The candidate must demonstrate better thanaverage or at minimum average computer skills including customer relationshipmanagement CRM software, internal database, electronic mail software,presentation software (PowerPoint), Spreadsheet software (Excel), wordprocessing software (Microsoft Word) Significant travel is required. The candidate must be proficient, comfortableand demonstrate the capabilities of developing a complete Value Propositionoffer and presenting such offer to any of the PPG ALT team members andcustomers.
