Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, provides leadership and direction for new product, process or technology introduction and/or process engineering resources and activities. Partners with R&D, Program management, manufacturing and quality in the identification, definition, and execution of projects and delivers technical requirements as well as continuous improvement of the product's supply chain capabilities. Encourages and supports the identification and development of innovative solutions to problems and opportunities. At this level the role has increased responsibility including, but not limited to, additional skills, multiple lines/products, product transfer and launches, diverse teams, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the oversight project execution and/or site programs under the site PMO to ensure flawless execution, resource allocation, project prioritization in alignment of organization strategy.
• Responsible for the tracking of project portfolio and/or program execution, identifying in advanced possible risks with respect mitigation plans. Collaborates with the Leadership Team to drive adherence of strategy, capital investment, and savings plans.
• Lead and support business cases development to confirm capital investment, savings and/or benefits.
• Supervises the technical aspects of projects. Provides technical advice to facilitates resolution of complex technical problems. Promotes innovation initiatives for new products and ideas.
• Responsible for the development and release of technical files to verify compliance to technical specifications and standards. Coordinates the staff with internal (manufacturing, quality, engineering) and external partners to plan and execute project plans. Assigns tasks according to projected scopes including compliance and quality improvement, cost reduction, cycle time reduction, capacity increase, raw material qualification, and launch preparation.
• Implements multiple new product development/process/technology plans and programs. Guides smooth execution of project plan at lower levels and multi-functional. Utilizes and schedules the adequate level of resources to facilitate attainment of project goals within established timelines and budgets.
• Possesses excellent communication, motivation, team building, employee involvement, diplomacy, delegating skills, as well as confidence and enthusiasm. Coordinates multi-functional teams to drive business and organizational results.
• Sets project metrics for the team and provides performance feedback to project team. Plans, schedules, conducts, and handles various engineering projects, ensuring all projects aligns with acceptable engineering practices and compliance regulations, are appropriately staffed, and are run within budget.
• Provides engineering expertise and maintains a high level of proficiency and business development acumen, to provide comprehensive technical advice and facilitates resolution of complex technical and operational problems.
• Ensures development projects and programs meet customer and company requirements by providing technical project leadership across functional boundaries for different phases of product development / transfer and/or support programs
• Sets the path for advanced technology development and implementation for manufacturing processes
• Challenges the “status quo” on a routine basis and develops new ideas within incoming processes.
• Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Company Policies and Federal, State and Local Government Regulations.
• Support the GMP audits as subject matter guide for product and processes.
• Participates in projects involving other departments and activities.
• Evaluates process trends (Ex. Yield, OEE) to drive improvements of business results.
• Build and execute validation strategies as applicable
• Works independently. Plans and develops own methods. Takes actions in the absence of specific instructions. Develops and presents new or improved methods. Solves manufacturing problems in a timely manner.
• Stay in sync with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies

Qualifications
Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required.

Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor degree in Engineering
• Experience in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry is required
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering field for manufacturing environment.
• Project management methodology certification desirable
• Six Sigma Certification desirable
• Experience with NPI, automation or technology knowledgeable desirable.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and time management.
• Ability to shift priorities according to changes in department/facility needs and be open to different ideas/approaches.
• Strong knowledge on statistics, problem solving and lean tools.
• Computer skills and use of software application(s). Strong computer background (MS Office, MS Project Management, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to write technical reports and procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance with all local and federal agencies: FDA, EPA, OSHA, and ISO

Proficient on Spanish & English is required
20% Domestic or International Travel
