The role: The main assignment of this role will be to design, plan and oversee construction of the San Juan terminal and truck loading station. In addition, oversight will be required for the construction of small-scale projects across Puerto Rico. Responsibilities: Undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations Using a range of computer software for developing detailed designs Undertaking calculations to review and confirm the design Liaising with clients and a variety of professionals including architects and subcontractors Compiling job specs and supervising tendering procedures Resolving design and development Issues Managing budgets and project resources Scheduling material and equipment purchases and deliveries Making sure the project complies with legal requirements, especially health and safety Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects Ensuring projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time Occasional travel to Miami, NYC and other parts of the US or the Caribbean might be required What you bring: Minimum 15 years of experience in construction including managing people on site. Atleast 10 of these years in Puerto Rico. The ability to think methodically and to manage projects, subcontractors, budget, schedule and people on site Problem-solving skills Ability to work to deadlines and within budgets Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills Complete knowledge of relevant legislation in Puerto Rico Sound mathematical, scientific and IT skills (including MS Office) Our commitment to diversity inclusion: New Fortress Energy promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace.
