Job Summary Works with the Quality and Manufacturing Departments in developing, installing and operating a quality system for controlling incoming raw material, in-process material, and finished products.
Additionally, assists manager with future planning and supervisory functions for the department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1.
Manages all advanced quality planning documents, and participates in quality planning activities; including, FMEA's, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Charts, and Gage R&R and capability studies
- Reviews and prepares necessary documentation for customer initial sample submissions; including AQP, customer documents, and any other required documentation
- Travels to customers' facilities to participate in all phases of the customer's launch activities; including Engineering and Component Review Team meetings, assembly trials, and SOP activities
- Performs technical and statistical investigations and analysis on production, quality, process, and equipment issues using standard NAL problem solving method
- Verifies the implementation and effectiveness of countermeasures for customer complaints, the revision of related documents, and the submission of countermeasure reports to the customers
- Evaluates process capability using the seven statistical tools
- Leads and facilitates trial fit and function builds at customers' facilities
- Conducts testing and dimensional layouts using mechanical and electrical inspection gages
- Prepares and audits procedures, records, and personnel requirements for inspection, testing, complaint handling, and vendor contact on quality problems
- Leads, mentors, and trains other quality personnel regarding job methods and technical studies
- Serves as the primary liaison between NAL and customers on all quality related issues
- Performs other duties as assigned
Responsibilites
Requirements
1.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- QC Certification is preferred
- 4 to 6 years of related manufacturing experience
- Experience in the quality function within automotive supplier manufacturing working with Japanese and US automakers in launch activities is preferred
5.
Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a.
Technical knowledge in statistics, inspection, testing, dimensional layouts, specification interpretation, and report writing in a manufacturing environment
b.
Understanding of CAD, GD&T, and APQP
c.
Analytical and problem solving skills
d.
Organizational and planning skills
e.
Computer skills in standard business software (including MS Office programs)

Written and verbal communications and presentation skills
