To actively support the racquet sports at Bahia Beach Resort & Golf Club by developing, promoting, and coordinating a comprehensive tennis and racquet-based program for the Club.
*Essential Duties: *
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Supervise all tennis/pickleball & Padel play, as directed by Recreation Managers.
· Enforce facility rules and regulations of the facility, and its equipment.
· Plan, organize and promote a year-round variety of programs, lessons, leagues, and tournaments for the members of Bahia Beach Resort and guests of the resort.
· Supervise the rental and maintenance of tennis equipment.
· Continue to build an active and self-sustaining racquet sports program.
· Attend monthly Departmental Meetings.
· Work in cooperation with the Recreation Team and others who assist in the operation of the facilities.
· To help in the coordination and supervision of various on-court activities, including but not limited to: Teaching workshops and certification clinics, Racquet Sports socials, Team Tennis and any other activities the Assistant Gm & Recreation Manager assigns.
· Establish a programming schedule, calendars, timelines, fees and charges for programs with the guidance of the Assistant GM.
· Give professional opinions and advice relating to the maintenance of the tennis courts. Assist when needed with the maintenance of the courts.
· Effectively responds to requests for information and provides assistance to the residents when appropriate and in a timely manner; handles public inquiries and problems, provides input on racquet sports related issues
· Devote a reasonable number of hours to playing tennis with members & residents regardless of their ability level to promote the activities with prior approval from the Department Head; such play is not to be considered a lesson.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
*Education/Experience:*Any combination of experience and training that would provide the knowledge of the sport, minimum requirement of two years of experience in the implementation, coordination and supervision of tennis facilities and programs, and previous participatory and teaching experience in the tennis industry.
*Physical Demands:*
Frequently stands, walks, talks and hears. Regularly uses hands to, feel or handle, reaches with Hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, taste or smells. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
*Environment/Noise:*
Occasionally it works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near moving mechanical parts, near fumes or airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals and in extreme heat or cold (non-weather). Noise level is moderate.
*Certificates/Licenses:*
Possession of or required to obtain professional certifications from USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) (P1 or P2), OR USPTR (United States Professional Tennis Registry) Professional certification and N.T.R.P. (National Testing Rating Program) rating of 4.0 plus within six months of hire.
*Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences: *
¨ Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
¨ Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
