Description of Responsibilities: Responsibilities for Research Engineer will include the development of custom software and the integration of software and hardware components to support the execution of the research projects and pilot testing of the systems developed to carry out the research. Degree/Education/Certification Requirements: Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Speech and Hearing Sciences or a related field Preferred Skills and Experience: Possess strong programming skills and experience with software application design, development and testing. Offer innovative technical solutions; Experience designing and implementing research experiments with high technical sophistication in a military operational research setting Possess excellent critical thinking with problem-solving skills, the ability to work cooperatively in a team setting, show flexibility in responding to changing demands, timeline, and priorities, and the ability to effectively communicate the results of work to clinical, military and academic communities. Experience with technical documentation. Experience in processing and analyzing data as well as the ability to identify and perform appropriate statistical analyses. Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers. Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.
