Job Description Store number: 526 Shopping center: Las Catalinas Mall Street address: 400 Calle Betances Ste 1150 The Store Manager is a non-exempt (eligible for over time using the fluctuating overtime method) salaried management position. Under the direction of the General Manager, the Store Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the store and sales floor. Additionally, duties include sales and operational productivity with a focus on profitability, Total Customer Service, associate training and development, merchandise management, Human Resource compliance, cash and inventory control and all loss prevention and safety related issues according to established policies and procedures. pg 1 of 3 Bachelors degree or one to three years of retail/service experience with strong supervisory skills preferred. I. Managing the Daily Operations of the Store A. Opening and closing duties B. Execution of daily sales and operational plans 1. Clear understanding all sales plans/goals 2. Clear understanding of all operational plans/goals 3. Clear understanding of all liquidation plans/goals C. Sales floor focus: 1. Monitors compliance of mic usage and execution of the Shoe Carnival concept. 2. Monitors proper use of global rotations to maximize liquidation efforts and increase average items and dollars per transaction. D. Assists with development of each day's action plan, break and aisle and overall associate productivity. E. Attention on safety of customers and associates. F. Other operational and business related needs as assigned by the General Manager and/or Regional Manager. II. Total Customer Service Responsibilities A. Holds all associates responsible for execution of the Non-Negotiable Service Standards. B. Ensures the store environment is clean, neat and inviting for all customers. C. Oversees resolution of all customer related issues or complaints. D. Ensures cashiers understand the importance of urgency at the cash wrap without compromising their smile, eye contact and friendly communication with the customer. III. Associate Recruiting, Hiring, Training and Development A. Assists in actively recruiting associates to fill all store level positions. B. Assists with reference checks, interviews, hiring recommendations and submission of all paperwork related to on-boarding new associates. Acts as a positive role model; focused attention on leadership development. E. Mentors and motivates staff by setting the right example and providing coaching and guidance to all associates. F. Assumes ownership in building bench strength at all associate levels within the store. IV. Merchandise Management Responsibilities A. Focused attention on key items and slow selling product to ensure maximum liquidation and profitability. B. Complete understanding of all merchandise related reports. C. Maintains product flow in all departments. D. Maintains proper pricing and signage in all departments. E. Ensures adequate sell through of regularly priced merchandise. F. Manages marked down and aged inventory within established guidelines. V. Human Resource Compliance A. Ensures all associates understand and comply with store and company policies and procedures. B. Applies fair and equal application of corrective/progressive discipline to all associates. C. In the absence of the General Manager, conducts counseling sessions privately and professionally. D. Quickly and thoroughly investigates all accidents, injuries, policy violations and ensures corrective action, if necessary. E. Ensures all claims of harassment and discrimination are immediately reported to the attention of the General Manager, Regional Manager, Ops VP and/or the Sr. Vice President of Human Resources and In-House Counsel. F. Understands and ensures associate understanding of code of ethics confidentiality pertaining to all company related information. VI. Cash and Inventory Control A. Monitors and ensures compliance of all cash control and banking procedures according to policy. 1. All cash handling procedures are followed without exception. 2. Cash office procedures are properly executed. 3. Bank deposits are properly prepared and deposited timely. 4. Returns/exchanges have proper management approvals. B. Monitors and ensures compliance of all inventory control procedures according to policy. Loss Prevention and Safety A. Monitors and ensures compliance of all loss prevention procedures according to policy. 1. Oversees mismate control procedures. 2. Ensures incoming and outgoing transfers are processed properly. 3. Monitors reconciliation of product deliveries and identifies and corrects various types of inventory related errors. B. Ensures all safety guidelines are followed and all work methods are performed in a safe manner. 1. Documents and reports all needed repairs of the store to the Maintenance Department in a timely manner. 2. Emphasis on educating all associates on safety protocol. 3. Monitors product stocking practices regularly to ensure customer safety while in the aisles and store. VIII. Key Carrier Expectations A. All Store Managers will be expected to carry keys to the store to assist with opening and closing procedures. B. External associates hired to the Store Manager position are required to complete Key Carrier Certification within sixty (60) days of hire. SDL2017
