About the Job:
GLJ is seeking an experienced and dependable Roller Operator to join our team in Rapid City. In this role, you'll be operating heavy machinery to ensure proper compaction of materials for a variety of construction projects. If you're skilled in operating rollers, have a solid work ethic, and are ready to contribute to the success of our team—this is the job for you.

What You'll Do:

* Operate a roller (smooth drum and/or pneumatic) to compact asphalt, soil, gravel, or other materials on roadways and construction sites
* Monitor equipment gauges and adjust settings as needed for optimal performance
* Ensure the safe operation of machinery at all times and follow company safety protocols
* Perform daily maintenance checks on the roller and other machinery
* Assist in site preparation, grading, and other tasks as needed
* Follow direction from supervisors and communicate effectively with the crew
* Maintain a clean and safe job site
* Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

* Previous roller operator experience is required
* Proven ability to operate a roller safely and efficiently
* Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Willingness to learn new skills and grow within the construction field
* Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites
