Overview SmartWorks, a division of Harris Computer Systems, is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer. The objective of the Technical Sales Engineer to support the Sales force in driving new revenue for SmartWorks. The Technical Sales Engineer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Meter Data Management (MDM) and the general capabilities of SmartWorks in relation to Smart Utility Infrastructure applications. The successful candidate will contribute to defining account strategies, performing sales presentations, demonstrating software solutions, writing solution proposals and defining solution design requirements. Details Support the Sales team in the process of securing new customers and increasing our business with existing customers for the company. This includes: Working jointly with the Sales team to secure sales by providing technical demonstrations and taking the lead on technical discussions Work with Sales team to ensure we have adequate technical and business knowledge of the prospect/client to scope and quote proposals Responsible for ownership of our sales demonstration Working jointly with the Account Manager to develop and compile RFI/RFP responses Defining the optimum solution architecture for specific projects Perform focused marketing activities, such as attending trade shows and assisting sales & marketing personnel in staffing the company exhibit booth Support CRM reporting needs Act as liaison between Sales and internal SMEs for assistance with bids and in the development of support materials KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Demonstrated ability to transform customer needs/requirements into the desired solution design for the client and an opportunity for the company Ability to work effectively with the many different functional areas within the organization and with outside customers and vendors Excellent written and oral communication skills plus organizational skills Ability to work independently or in a team environment Ability to travel up to 50% ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS 3 years in the electric, water, or gas utilities industry Strong familiarity with Smart Grid/Smart Infrastructure processes and utility business processes Experience or familiarity with utility enterprise applications such as: Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Automated Meter Reading (AMR), Customer Information System (CIS)/Billing System, Geographic Information System (GIS), Outage Management System (OMS), Distribution Modeling, Engineering Analysis A bachelor's degree (technical) is required Harris is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
