Overview The Solutions Engineer will engage with prospective and existing clients, define technical solutions based on prospects needs and present the software solution to the prospect. Details Responsibilities Provide technical demonstrations of the SmartWorks applications and take the lead on technical discussions to assist the Sales team Collaborate with the Sales team in developing a strategy to align our solutions with the project requirements Work jointly with the Sales team to develop and compile RFI/RFP content Act as a liaison between Sales and internal SMEs for assistance with bids Adept at documenting software requirements in precise detail Perform marketing-focused activities, such as attending trade shows and assisting sales & marketing personnel in staffing the company exhibit booth Support CRM reporting needs Competencies Demonstrated ability to transform customer needs/requirements into the desired solution for the client and an opportunity for the company Ability to work effectively within many different functional areas in the organization Build rapport with outside customers and vendors Excellent written and oral communication skills plus organizational skills Ability to work independently or in a team environment Ability to travel up to 50% Qualifications 3 years of experience in the electric, water, or gas utilities industry Strong familiarity with Smart Grid/Smart Infrastructure processes and utility business processes Experience or familiarity with utility enterprise applications such as: Meter Data Management, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Automated Meter Reading (AMR), Customer Information System (CIS)/Billing System, Geographic Information System (GIS), Outage Management System (OMS), Distribution Modeling, Engineering Analysis A bachelor's degree (technical) is required Harris is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
