General Description
SAP System Administrator for SAP ERP, SAP BW and SAP Solution Manager. Responsible for maintaining the ongoing reliability, monitoring performance and technical aspects, and support of SAP application environments, research, administrative, and other activities.
Identify and analyze business needs, understand requirements, and determine the best solution to manage customer requests via technology driven solutions. Design enhancements and/or a solution to meet end user requirements. Perform configuration work as needed to support new and existing functionality and to manage initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities includes application and system management, problem response, and capacity planning.
SAP Systems Administrators
serve as a liaison between the SAP Business Analyst, the customers and the SAP Basis and Database technical team. Understand the technical infrastructure standards and requirements for the integration of specific SAP modules. Understand the business implications of application and system problems and can set severity levels and solution path when problems do occur. Monitor the performance of system applications and troubleshoot a wide variety of technical problems in conjunction with SAP Basis team. Manage production issue resolution and forecasting capacity to manage business demands and plans. SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Solution Manager
technical administrator should be able to maintain the platform, so it complies with required business needs and plans. Identify business needs, understand requirements, and determine the best solution to help resolve customer problems. Design enhancements and/or a solution to meet end user requirements. Perform configuration work as needed to support new and existing functionality. Functions as resident team expert for all configuration issues (both support and project) within their areas (modules) of expertise. Serves as functional integration owner for multiple process areas. Prepares functionality specifications and delivers to SAP programmers and Basis. Collaborates with the SAP programmers and the Business to develop and test significant new functionality and enhancements. Performs integration testing work as necessary to assure that new functionality or enhancements do not adversely affect existing functionality. Trains expert users on new enhancements or functionality as required. Ensures knowledge transfer to expert users as necessary to increase their understanding and utilization of the SAP systems applications. Utilizes Agile and ASAP methodologies and tasks required during each phase of implementation, development, and production support. Insures prompt responses to customer inquiries. Create and maintain documentation as necessary for compliance purposes.
Require solid troubleshooting skills. They need good communication skills and must be able to work collaboratively with system users and other technical colleagues. Individuals work across all functional areas and use a strong client service orientation to ensure that all requests and problems are resolved following Popular service, and technology policies and standards. They share their expertise and provide individual training and support to users. SAP Systems Administrators work together with other IT staff to enhance services and capabilities available to all clients.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
Project Management or Industrial Engineering degree desirable.
SAP BA or BW Certifications, PMP certification desirable.
Experience
3-5 three- five years of experience on SAP ERP technical administration, business process analysis, configuration and SAP ERP modules, SAP upgrades and patches. 2-3 two -three years of experience working with SAP offshore consultants on projects and business initiatives. Knowledge on analysis of system overall health monitoring and performance analysis, interpretation of SAP OSS notes and understanding and communicating impact of SAP products landscape and SAP project methodology. Knowledge of SaaS technical administration, communication and security protocols highly desirable. Understanding Basic knowledge on database schema and database concepts desirable.
