Secondary School Math Teacher
Position Summary:
Saint John's School, a Toddler to 12-grade co-ed secular school is actively seeking a dynamic and seasoned individual to join our team. The role of the Secondary Mathematics Teacher will play a pivotal role in meticulously planning and delivering engaging lessons across various math courses such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus, and/or Computer Science. The candidate should also possess the ability to inspire, educate, and foster mathematical literacy and enthusiasm among students.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Secondary Education, Mathematics, or related fields.
A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience, preferably within a private or independent school setting.
Valid teaching certificate in the subject area(s) sought.
Strong understanding of instructional methodologies and differentiated instructions.
Proficiency in instructional technology.
Exemplary work ethic, a positive demeanor, adaptability, and a willingness to undertake assigned tasks.
Demonstrating a deep passion for and staying informed about current advancements in educational theory and practice.
Excellent written and oral skills in both English and Spanish a must.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to build rapport with children, families and school staff required.
Ability to work independently and with others.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Establishing a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, fostering a genuine passion for Mathematics and STEM disciplines.
Providing ongoing assessment of student progress and development.
Collaborating with colleagues and staff to maintain a positive and supportive work environment.
Develop and implement policies and strategies for Mathematic classes in alignment with the school's vision and commitment to academic excellence.
Maintain comprehensive student records and regularly assess student progress.
Customize teaching methods to address the unique needs of individual students through differentiation.
Implement behavior policies to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
Demonstrate leadership within the department and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Assess student progress through regular evaluations, performances, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support individual growth and achievement.
Foster collaboration between school and home to support student success.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, create, and express themselves.
Maintain consistent communication with families to provide feedback and share positive information.
Stay current with trends and developments in mathematics education, attending professional development workshops and conferences to enhance teaching practices and pedagogical approaches.
